Top Three Platforms For Writers in 2025

The passion and love for writing burns even more when you have the right eyes on your content/art. In this article, I have laid down in no particular order the three best and most efficient platforms I have used and probably still using.

Why Is the Platform I write on so Important?

Yeap, I am very sure most newbies have this question in mind. The platform you write on sometimes has the potential to make or unmake you. You have to first identify which category of people hang out on the platform you are to write on. Take for instance, LinkedIn, which category of people hang out there?

You see, LinkedIn is full of CEOs or wanna be CEOs, Professionals, inspiration hunters, job hunters and so on. So, writing here will mean you have to tailor your content to be of value to if not all, some group of people.

Let's explore my all time favorite platforms;

1. Medium:

Medium has been around for several years and is one of the platforms on top of the chart. I personally like medium because of it's user friendliness, in-built audience, search engine visibility and it's on-site revenue opportunity.

Aside monetizing your content through the medium's partnership program, you can integrate models such as affiliate marketing, sponsored posts and even sell your own products without facing bans and restrictions (provided you don't bridge the T's & C's).

The truth about Medium.com

Even though, medium has an in-built audience but gaining traction on the platform can still be very difficult and hard to scale just like the several other platforms. It takes hard work and endless dedication to see significant growth on your profile.

2. Substack

Writing on substack is kind of similar to medium because it also possesses a quiet user friendly user interface. It also hosts a decent number of traffic which can easily interact with your content and possibly become subscribers.

One thing that projects this platform a lot is it's ability to collect emails from subscriber indirectly making them your owned traffic for life if they don't opt out.

With your email list and the decent number of people on the substack app, you can promote affiliate products or services and also sell your own products or courses.

This platform offers a very untapped way to succeed as a writer.

The chances are fair, you only need a stepping stone and that's your determination. ~ Abiiro Samuel Atule.

3. Vocal

Storyteller? try Vocal.

Vocal houses a bunch of great creative writers and readers with the love for storytelling and creative writing in all categories ranging from fiction to non-fiction and a whole lot of other categories.

Vocal pays it's contributors a decent amount based on the interactions with your content. I would recommend this platform to all newbies that are very passionate about crafting stories, poems or even play acts/drama scripts.

The above platforms are my all time favorite in all ways. I like their interfaces, traffic aid, and ultimately the opportunities to make money for myself. Sign up to any of the platforms above and start writing today for free.
